Children’s reading and crafting await visitors to the Kraffer Garden on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
The Jindřichův Hradec Municipal Library is heading out into the greenery once again; they will be lending books and registering new readers—both children and adults for free—and they have a special program prepared for visitors.
Starting at 1 PM and then every hour until 5 PM, you can enjoy readings from children’s books specially selected by librarians for the Kraffer Garden setting. The program will also include Kamishibai theater performances and a creative workshop.
From 10 AM to 5 PM, you can paint your own mug in the pottery workshop in the garden. This activity, suitable for children, adults, and whole families, offers a pleasant way to slow down during the often hectic days of September and gives you a new companion for moments with your favorite drink.
A woodworking workshop titled Create Your Own Wooden Toy will start at 2 PM. The workshop includes an introduction to the Kraffer Garden and its trees, followed by the creation of a toy from prepared components that you can take home with you.
You can also explore the garden through the Garden Gnome Scavenger Hunt; you can play this in the garden anytime and, together with the gnomes Hlíz and Chocholík from Linda Marková’s book “About the Garden Gnome,” crisscross the garden while completing 20 tasks.
We also invite you to our flower shop and the Kraffer Café, where specialty coffee from the Industra.Coffee roastery and homemade desserts will be available for you all day.
