We invite you to an exhibition of works created during Saki Matsumoto’s artistic residency at Kraffer Garden. Come and see the results of our joint workshops and further exploration of the garden’s history; the exhibition will be installed in the unique setting of the greenhouses. It will be on display for the first time during the opening on Saturday, November 1, starting at 1:30 PM, and subsequently during the garden’s opening hours until November 23.
As part of a series of workshops, stories and prints were created capturing garden beings inspired by nature and Kraffer Garden. Students from the Vítězslav Novák Primary Art School in Jindřichův Hradec, children from the Živě v trávě forest school in Jarošov nad Nežárkou, and children accompanied by adults in Kraffer Garden all participated in their creation. Saki Matsumoto created original graphics inspired by these fantastical creatures and an interview with local witness Milena Maryšková. Her work intertwines imaginary beings with memories of Kraffer Garden from the interwar period.
